1. Best Environmental Champion

This category honors one individual that has demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication, and impact in the field of environmental sustainability in Cyprus. This award seeks to recognize this year’s true champion of the cause, driving transformative change.

2. Best Environmental Project

This category honors one outstanding environmental initiative that has been developed and implemented in Cyprus. This award recognizes the project that has made a significant, positive impact on the environment, demonstrating innovation, effectiveness, and sustainability in its approach in the following areas:

Projects or individuals promoting sustainable practices, reducing waste, and closing the loop on resource use.

Pollution

Efforts aimed at reducing air, land, and water pollution, paving the way for a cleaner Cyprus.

Climate Change

Pioneering actions that mitigate climate risks, reduce emissions, and build resilience for a changing world.

Water and Marine Resources

Leading projects that protect Cyprus’ precious water resources, ensuring clean and sustainable supplies for all.

Champions safeguarding ecosystems, preserving Cyprus’ unique flora and fauna, and promoting harmony with nature.

Each application OR nomination must contain at least the following:

Category 1: Best Environmental Champion
  • Name of Applicant (physical person)
  • Profession and contact details
  • Description of initiatives and contribution (2-3 paragraphs)
  • Attach links, photos or videos from the initiatives (if applicable)
  • Other Awards or Recognitions received

Category 2: Best Environmental Project

  • Name and contact details of Applicant (physical person or organization)
  • Description of the environmental project and its contributions (positive impacts) (2-3 paragraphs)
  • Year(s) of implementation of the project
  •  Attach links, photos or videos from the project
  •  Other Awards or Recognitions received by the project

 

Applications will be evaluated based on their
IMPACT,
INNOVATION,
INSPIRATION,
by a committee made up of project environmental experts and representatives.

Short listed applicants will be invited to participate in the Awards Ceremony at the Goethe Institute in Nicosia (next to Ledra Palace)
on 13 December 2024,
where the winners will be announced.
